About Josef & Pedicabs
Josef is a passionate pedicab driver dedicated to providing unique and memorable experiences for his passengers. A pedicab is a human pedal-powered public passenger vehicle used to transport passengers for hire.
As a pedicab chauffeur, Josef drives, pedals, and controls the direction and steering of the pedicab, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride for all. With his extensive knowledge of Houston and commitment to sustainable transportation, Josef offers an eco-friendly alternative for exploring the vibrant urban landscape.
Josef's path to pedicab driving was as winding as the streets of Houston he now navigates. Born in a small Nebraska town, Josef's cycling prowess emerged early when he won the county fair's "Fastest Tricycle" race three years running.
His adventures took him across America, through Europe (where he accidentally outpaced the Tour de France while delivering baguettes), and to Tibet, where monk-cyclists taught him to achieve inner peace while climbing the steepest hills.
A wrong turn during a cross-country race led Josef to Houston, where he found his true calling as a pedicab driver. Now, he pedals the streets, sharing tales of his global escapades and occasionally claiming to levitate his pedicab over traffic jams using his monk-taught skills.
Josef's pedicab, adorned with souvenirs from his world travels, has become a mobile museum of cycling history. From racing kangaroos in Australia to delivering pizzas during New York's 2003 blackout, Josef's life has been an incredible journey.
As Josef always says, "Life is like a pedicab ride. You never know where you're going to end up, but it's all about enjoying the journey and avoiding the potholes."
